Pack Leaders

Hailey
An American born and raised, BowDog Inc. owner Hailey Seidel has lived in Calgary since 2000. An alumni of local St. Francis High School and the University of Calgary, Hailey has been an active member of the local community since first arriving eight years ago. With a lifelong love for all things canine, Hailey credits her canine education to her life spent with a variety of different breeds including "older brother" B.B. King, a Mini-Schnauzer, her own first dog, Buddy, a Yellow Lab, a menagerie of Jack Russells along the way, Angus, the Chihuahua-MinPin cross and now her breed of choice, Great Danes, with Bruce and Charlie. Having attempted almost everything with her canine companions in tow, Hailey knows how important it is to have a well behaved, socialized and exercised pet. Hailey and Neil delved into the world of providing foster care for dogs in need through Misty Creek Dog Rescue, taking on some challenging cases in hopes that they too can have their shot at a great forever home. Hailey's passion is fueled when seeing dogs, misunderstood by their humans, integrate into packs with just one wag of a tail or eyes thanking her and the other pack leaders for walks at the end of everyday! Hailey started BowDog Inc. with the belief that there is a better way to care for pets than traditional, outdated standards that do not truly fulfill dogs’ primal needs. In continuing the BowDog team’s education on a daily basis, Hailey wants to ensure that her team provides THE BEST pet care in the entire city.
Gillian
Gillian has always been passionate about working with dogs, and couldn’t imagine life without them! A certified dog groomer since 2006, Gillian enjoys helping dogs look their best! As a professional groomer, Gillian encountered a mangy, matted, unkempt dog one day at work and approached the owner about the appropriate care the dog required to prevent such a catastrophe from happening again. The client was much more eager to ditch the dog and claim a long list of “issues” that prevented her from being a good dog owner. By the end of the day, Gillian found herself with a new family member and has never looked back! Kia has been a member of her pack at home with boyfriend Miguel and a large extended family nearby ever since! Gillian’s job satisfaction comes from spending her days outdoors with packs that adore her and Kia at her side! A Cesar Milan (Dog Whisperer) addict as well, Gillian has been a great addition to our team with a natural ability to “think like a dog” and successfully rehabilitate dogs into her packs that are always eager to make new friends!
Dallas
Dallas hails from Airdrie where she was involved in 4-H: showing cows and riding horses. She is always appreciative of the role dogs played in her life on the farm. She adopted her dog Gibson from the Pits for Life Foundation of Alberta in June 2007 with boyfriend Kyle. Since adopting Gibson, she’s completed numerous behavioral courses including a few with the Calgary Humane Society and Clever Canines. Before becoming a pack leader, Dallas worked as a legal assistant and currently working on a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications when she’s not with her packs. She loves to cheer on the Flames during hockey season and snowboards in the winter. In the summer, she, Gibson and family enjoy camping and barbequing with good friends, family and their dogs! Her favorite thing in the entire world is getting home and seeing Gibson's tail (and bum) wagging away!
Kelsey
Kelsey and her menagerie of pets first joined us as clients! Kelsey spent 5 months walking for us full-time in Calgary's Northwest and now provides only private pet-sitting! A veterinary technician before joining our packs, Kelsey brings with her a wealth of knowledge about canine health and wellness and is able to quickly assess both physical and behavioral changes in her pack members and offer good advice accordingly. This December Kelsey is completing her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Calgary and will be applying to Vet school in the near future!
When she’s not volunteering her time in the community, Kelsey is horseback riding or working with her Border Collie Cross, Kovu, in competitive fly-ball, agility, obedience, and on-going behavioral training. Kelsey’s job satisfaction comes from seeing Kovu TIRED at the end of the day!
Charmane
Born and raised in Calgary, Charmane has always loved dogs and enjoyed looking after them despite never having had one of her own. She and her husband Matthew are so looking forward to adopting their first dog this summer! Since joining BowDog Inc., Charmane has completed the animal first aid course and will be taking the Clever Canines behavioral training course. Before becoming a pack leader, Charmane completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History at the University of Waterloo, Ontario and has been working as a technical writer in various sectors, including Oil & Gas and the airline industry. When she is not looking after dogs, you can find her traveling, playing floor hockey or watching ice hockey - her favorite teams are the Calgary Flames and Matthew's team! The joy that dogs bring and how readily they show affection to whomever is willing to feed and walk them is what makes working with BowDog Inc. one of Charmane's favorite activities!
